Why are we choosing to forget that this man raped you? What the fuck? I can't believe it

I hate Emily, and frankly every single character in this book, this bitch is encouraging her friend to go back to the man who raped her, she's making her believe that he loves her! "Oh I've seen the way he looks at you blah blah blah" Shut the fuck up for hod sake, uggghhh I can not believe women were this stupid in that time it makes me sick

"I think he cares for me very much" bitch he RAPED you! He fucking raped you! If he cared about you he wouldn't have raped you no matter what you did, it doesn't work like that, women don't get punished with rape! What the fucking hell am I even reading??? (What did I expect this shit was written in the 1800s 😒)

I just realized that this book is darker than I thought, Clayton is messed up, I have enjoyed most of the book but I don't think I will anymore because of this discovery, this isn't really a romance, more like a fmc being manipulated
Side note: I just read on a reddit post that Whitney and Clayton are the names of the biological children of the author Judith....now what the fuck this is so disturbing 😳
