It took me a bit to get my bearings because there is a bunch of characters at once. I guess the author was sort of setting the scene or whatever, but it took a good 40ish pages before it really got my attention… though I had a terrible migraine yesterday +finished reading Spirit Crossing so that could have contributed to the lag, too.
