They found bodies near the tree of the kids Titus was right.They got the state law enforcement involved for the resources and such and Titus starts to fume about the acts done to those children and how it relates to religion and everything.After talking with the state guys he had to break up a fight between the confederates and the new age black church after someone vandalized the dumb statue.Titus is winding up bad

After finding all the evidence of the crimes committed against the children and a long tough day Titus goes to a local food spot picks up some food then goes home where Darlene his girlfriend and his dad are chatting. The couple has sex and he wakes up with a text from his brother that reminds him to where the willow tree is. He gathers people up to search and dig for the bodies of the children near the tree.

Spearman was a pedophile and involved in some weird thing with Latrell, the guy that shot him, that involved wolf masks and hurting black and brown children with a hundred photos and videos of the acts all with a third person that was masked up and disguised as well. The sheriffs office made the discovery and everyone that knows is very shocked but the county doesn’t know yet and I’m sure they won’t be pleased

This book is so well written. Titus is meticulous about everything since it’s the only control he has in this world. He was a former fbi agent and is proud to be the first black sheriff of the county but knows what it comes with as well.He has to deal with all the fallout from the shooting like telling his old best friend their son died and them not understanding to churchgoers wanting to blame him for the incident

Titus receives a radio call about a shooting at the school and he races over there along with the other deputies and hurry to get the kids out and figure everything out. A guy comes out who is the son of one of Titus old friends and talks about an arch angel and a devil and that’s why he killed this teacher who was liked by everyone. The guy looks high and then start to run towards them and gets shot and dies.

Ok we are introduced to Titus Crown a black sheriff in Virginia I think in a place called Charcon County. They talk about the dark history of the place and get into meeting Titus and his father who lives with him in their childhood home. Titus mom is dead and his brother doesn’t visit much at all. Titus has a girlfriend Darlene and has a scar from a incident with a suicide vest and a family of white nationalists
