Turns out the baby shower was more of a military cookout, the drama almost broke out with “baby soldiers” causing a scene. Karina being a jerk towards her only friend due to her dramatics with ending things with Kael. Elodie talked her in to coming to the camping bday trip for her brother mostly. Kael takes her including a soldier female???

Karina not going to the shower but does have conflicted feelings about Kael. She gave him her old chair in replacement for her new one.

Guess who’s at the Flea Market? She ends up buying a chair with Kael’s help. Turns out the “cookout” is code for Elodie’s baby shower. See instead of being immature about something you can’t control, she could’ve known that.

Keal and Austin discuss the basic training that Austin’s gonna take for the army. Mostly on Keal mind, but discussion about Karina and possibly accepting the what they done. There comes the camping trip if he should or shouldn’t attend.

Austin and Karina finally discussed the elephant in the room. Whether she liked it or not, her brother will be recruited in the military life. She should grow up and at least be supportive. As for Kael, if she has feelings still she should have a talk with him too. He acting mad dumb atm which I don't blame her for being like, Then fine be that why, ain't no one chasing you."

All tension boils as not only Austin shows up to try to talk with Karina, but her friend almost lost herself and her baby with so much pain and stress. All odds sees Kael at the hospital with Mendoza due to his hand. Why is she surprised to see Kael? Him and Austin are going to be in the army together. Even the same combat unit.

Opinion: I agree with her especially 2026-beyond.

Kael had a chat with Austin about her knowing the news and how devastated she feels. The book starts out from where we left off. Karina has a new client yet her head is just not in it atm. Bad enough she lost her potential love but possibly might loose her brother too.

From Kael perspective, it appears everyone in Georgia Fort Benning base attends someone’s funeral. Don’t know who, I’m guessing Karina’s dad’s??? The book has Kael sharing little of his view point. Along with his mother attending with him and looking for Karina even after their coffee meet/ catch up.
