Sixth Crusade was a bust, Louis IX was kind of stupid, Mamluk slave soldiers take Egypt as Ayyubid Empire collapses due to internal power struggles. Support for crusades curtails and many in Europe abandon the faith completely due to the overwhelming failure of the last few crusades.
