"I dont eat anything that was once alive" sounds like the stance of somebody new to veganism, or somebody who's never had a meaningful interaction with a vegan in their whole lives. Be ause it falls the fuck apart once you remember that plants are also living things. As are fungi. And these folks rarely object to greens or portobellos.
