Over 100 pages in and all that has happened is the author re-explaining through multiple different examples that Rigel is a dark, brooding, mysterious, and violent high schooler. Then that the main character is sensitive, quirky, loves animals, and thinks other people think she is weird. What the heck? I’m not sure about this yet.
