MAKING CONNECTIONS: I can make a connection with Colin and NBA superstar, Allen Iverson. On page 130, Colin states that, "I am proud to be black... I am proud of my culture and want to express it... being black is my super power." Just like Colin, Iverson embraced his culture and what came with it. He used his background and childhood to make a character for himself and give hope to all the less fortunate kids.
