I think I need to be in the right mood for horror satire, and this just wasn’t the right time for me. It’s incredibly well written though, and Percival Everett’s humor and wit are what kept me interested. I also appreciated how The Trees ties in very real racism and horrific events like the lynching of Emmett Till. DNF for now, but I’d come back to it later.
