I found The Pledge a bit slow to get going. It took a while to build any real momentum, and early on it didn’t leave me wanting to pick it back up. About three-quarters of the way through, it did improve and became more engaging, but by then it hadn’t quite done enough to fully grip me. Overall, an okay read with some stronger moments later on, but it didn’t quite deliver consistently.
