I am really surpised on how well the author expresses himself. His delicate writing style makes me feell joyfull wile reading this novel. I am not surprised that Elish does not smoke, as she seems like a great person. As I was reading this novel, I felt happy as it is similar to our Cardigan Journey, where all students experience homesickness, and all students move far away from their families.

I am surprised about how even the employees at the store where Elish works do not know about the Nylon stocking sale. There should be at least some info given to the employees about it so they could prepare for the cause the night before. I am happy for Eilis as she got into Brooklyn College night classes. I believe that this should keep her occupied during the week. Lastly, I hope that Eilis's family is doing well.

I feel bad for Elish as she cannot stop vomiting in the back of the boat. If I were in her position, I would go and find help, as it scares me to be in the back of the boat with no one to help. I am happy that Georgia was able to find her and help Elish, as it seems Georgia has a lot of experience traveling by boat. Lastly, I really hope that Elish finds her new home in Brooklyn.
