The first 150 pages were about Kinte’s upbringing and community. It was starting as a drag for me but at about pg 120 I came to be OK with reading about the day to day life. At pg 150 is when he was kidnapped and a bit of plot happens. A bit of an overly detailed start but glad that foundation of character development was there

Still in the character and cultural building part of the book. Excited to see what happens next
