chpt 56 is 5*+ writing which shows so much about all characters involved. Hilarious physical comedy. Very dark. Douglas has thermal & chemical burns from spicy Vietnamese food. His wife & son laugh at him, do not help him at all. Douglas is trying so hard to help his family have a nice time together, contorting himself into these selfish people's demands.
