Yes, I am not setting the world on fire reading this one in a single night. Ace is interesting to me. He has a brutally visceral writing style that is impact ful enough to motivate stopping for a breather after a chapter or two. That is not necessarily a bad thing dependent upon one's mindset. This work is grounded in fact, but the supportive storyline is born of the author's imagination, envisioning depravity.

I spent some time with this "historical horror story" tonight and at the halfway mark I have concluded that the author excelled at convincing the reader that Ilse Koch is devoid of any semblance of humanity. There are some creative imaginings of what may have transpired in her early youth.
But after the intro to this human monster, scant dialogue,character development, movement. Perversions are repetitious.
