Some interesting nuances and fleeting moments captured really beautifully through Joyce’s kaleidoscope of a simpler and also harsher life in Dubliners. A bit of a slog through some of the short stories to be honest. So much so that I can’t recall characters names by the end of their short lived time on the chapter because it’s so dry at times.
There’s some great things here and there, and the more raw Joyce gets with his set pieces the better. I just can’t do another 20 pages of 3 motor car drivers referencing 6 other motor car drivers who have a night on the town Jfc James, wrap it up brother my train has 3 more stops I’m dying for this to get more interesting at 8am on my commute.
