Retracting that last remark about checking out her other books. Took me less than a minute to browse through some of them..

Apparently I read one before(?), gave it one star. Obviously wasn’t memorable. Also makes me kind of second guess This book.

Her other books’ blurbs don’t seem interesting either.
Like, at all.
So hard pass.

Oh well.

I feel the need to clarify that this book was not great.

There were great moments sure, fantastic lines and imageries.

So as it’s fresh in my memory, I’m rating it a very very very flat four stars.

I do recall early on, thinking I’d like to check out more books from this author. So off I go

Honestly, I didn’t “struggle” but it wasn’t as easy to finish as it was to start.

I really sped read from the halfway mark to the end.
And skimmed a bunch, mostly the sex scenes(bc they were meh)

I think what I enjoyed the most was the fmc discovering and experiencing the world. That wonderment.

A flat four stars. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The guys obviously know how much of a sick fuck Ethan is, which still hasn’t been fully revealed. They knows he’s likely dangerous(?) it’s heavily implied anyways. Repetitively.

And the fmc is barely, but understandably naive-and stupid about the whole situation. Ugh

Since the halfway mark, I’ve been feeling like the story is dragging…

And I keep thinking about all that hair of hers.
Why hasn’t she cut it yet???

A lot has happened, but also not.
It’s kind of infuriating.

Too many things noteworthy but I wanted to put down this latest thought,

She just ran from Enzo and the craved body in the dungeon, she’s puking out her window…and the next chapter-transitions into Maverick’s pov, “his face tilted up to the spray of the shower”
Ironically or not idk. Just thought it was a funny segue

This is kind of perfect.
Like her.

Which is unironically sad and beautiful.
I feel like I’ve found a .. not a diamond, but another kind of gem, multifaceted, full of colors and not just one or two main one.

The build up for Z and these guys meeting was so worth it

The fmc is so… charming 😭
She’s adorable.

So far so good, some notes before I forget

- I’m enjoying this retelling of rapunzel at this point, it’s making me realize I never thought of how fucking shitty & grueling the task of washing her long ass hair would be.
- her routine, mention of colors/lack of, the dresses, the statues, the one precious plant, the warmth of the sun
- loving the imagery that’s being conjured, the feelings they’re invoking.
