I am very much enjoying this, but the romantic tension is relying on the protagonist being stupid about people for plot reasons and not character reasons. She's shown to be quite competent at reading people and understanding their character, but when it comes to the love interest, she just gets dumb and he's evil for reasons that are never explained beyond "We the authors want romantic tension"
