Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia are star cross lovers because they are brother and sister but they don't know till the end of The Empire Strikes Back. They're farther is Darth Vader or Aniken Skywalker. The Mentor in the book is Yoda. Yoda teaches Luke the was of the force and prepares Luke for battle against the Empire and his father Darth Vader. Yoda does not tell Luke that Vader is his father.

At Cloud City, Luke falls into a trap. The two engage in a lightsaber duel where, Lukeis no match for Vader, causing him to lose his weapon. Vader reveals that he is Luke's father. Luke falls off the bridge and is pulled into an air shaft. He is pulled beneath the floating city. Luke and his friends are chased by TIE fighters. Aboard a medical frigate in the Rebel fleet Luke's arm is replaced with a robotic arm.

Three years after the destruction of the Death Star, the Rebel Alliance has been driven from their former base on Yavin IV by the Galactic Empire. The Rebels, led by Princess Leia, have set up their new base on the ice planet Hoth. The Imperial fleet, led by Darth Vader, continues to hunt for the Rebels’ new base by dispatching probe droids across the galaxy. Some of the droids land on Hoth and they fine the rebels.
