I can understand how people who prefer a "show not tell" style of writing might not like this book, but at the same time I can't help but wonder how many white women might read this and STILL not understand that sympathy alone does not equal ally-ship. I'm a little worried that this may end with a white savior, happily-ever-after-despite-it-all scenario, but I'll try to be optimistic.
