Definitely a downgrade from the first book. The best scenes are still the battles in the North. Almost everything else is kinda forgettable.

The quality of the book has not been as consistent as the first one, which has been disappointing. Repeating the same jokes through 800 pages gets old, and some characters start to look too one dimensional.
Best parts are still the action scenes and group interactions, but there haven't been as many through all these pages.
Hopefully it will pick up in the last portion of the book.
