I didn’t want her to shrink to fit the world. I wanted the fucking world to expand to fit her.

Ada was self-aware, complicated, chaotic, and flawed. She made bad decisions. She loved messily. She existed in the grey. She owned her darkness and her chaotic mess. And I had done nothing to deserve her—but she was mine nonetheless and there wasn’t a thing about her I would change.

“I don’t need you to be useful or have any purpose other than to simply exist. Do we understand each other?”

It was hard to breathe just looking at her. How was she real? Ada wasn’t pretty or cute. Those would be severely understated words—she was just downright stunning. And I wasn’t trying to adonize her, it was simple fact. Like most things.

Ada was mine molecularly. And nothing would change that. “No one in this world knows better than me who and what she is.”
