idk if this would be spoilers or not but i just need to rant for a bit.
so ive not read any leslie meier books so i only know whats been said in this short story about the main character, lucy - shes a reporter and a mum.
so 2 people move into the town. and lucy goes over there and knocks, they dont answer, but she sees the car in the driveway. so she goes to the backdoor and knocks. who tf does that? tbc

story 2: 3/5 stars
while i did find annoyance in the trope successful wife/mum marries deadbeat husband/dad and the story did drag on a little, it was at least more engaging than the first story and the "odd addams family" next door were interesting as well, and even though the length was a bit dragging on, it did help keep you engaged, i think short stories that are too short leaves you wanting more.

i really hate the trope of successful woman/mother marrying a deadbeat husband/father. especially when they both just complain and bicker at each other instead of trying to work it out... its like dont get married and bring kids into this world!! its not fun to read. its bad enough tv shows/movies have this trope but idk reading it seems to be worse. hope "the addams family" next door saves this 2nd story XD

finished the first short story, i didnt like it at all. i think the ending just goes to show you, you shouldnt make assumptions or jump to conclusions -.-". so 1/5 stars
