We really need to bring back the sandwich board as a primary means of advertising. It's a lost art.

You know who was NOT good at building mass transit systems in which people didn't get routinely mangled by buses, horses, and carriages?

Victorian people, that's who.

When I go back in time to Victorian London, please remind me never to travel by any means of conveyance whatsoever.

Holy rolling death traps, Batman.

I think it's cool that in Victorian London, walking was WAY faster than Ubering.

Fun fact: Dickens liked hanging out with Leigh Hunt until one time at a pub when a drunken Hunt said to a server who mistakenly suggested that Dickens had authored La Comedie Humaine, "I do not know much when I am this inebriated, Madam, but I certainly still know my Dickens from my Balzac. And that man is the biggest Dickens I know."

After that, Dickens LOVED hanging out with Hunt.
