Love the use of tone—Irish? Very bold. Also love the shadow of war colouring everything that happens in the book, like the Trojan Women. Rlly loving the Mark/Jez relationship of Lampo and Gelon, interesting to have a proper male perspective, v much not a feminist retelling but depicts the struggles of women in that time.

sooo gooooodd, first decent myth retelling I’ve read in a while bc the dialogues acc decent, real sense of place and good tone. Unusual tgat it’s not set in any specific myth rlly sets it apart, the knowledge of the time and the attitudes r just first rate. SUPER funny aswell!!!
