Riveting. An astonishing spy thriller, a legend of true bravery and resistance, and a sobering account of humanity and sacrifice in war. One of the most illuminating books and inspiring collection of characters (not least the incredible Virginia Hall) I've spent time with. I'll be sad when this one is over.
