I keep being pleasantly surprised at how much of this series, written by a man, is explicitly about sisterhood. It passes the Bechdel test a million times, and does something I even more rarely see, which is female characters telling themselves, or each other, to stop mooning over their significant other and get back to the more important work they have in front of them.
