The erasure of the past/historical statements in this book heavily reminds me of the use of generative artificial intelligence in our current time. AI is now advanced enough that, just like in 1984, it is possible to replace the past with entirely curated events. As the Party slogan illustrates, "Who controls the past, controls the future; who controls the present controls the past."
