Petty but I don't like having a Charlaine Harris comment printed on the cover, I still haven't forgiven her for the ending of The southern vampire mysteries :')

Okay, so I haven’t had much time to read this lately. I wanted to finish my current read first so I can really focus on this one, but I absolutely love the idea of a reader getting pulled into a book world(and I hope the side pet shows up again soon 😆).

Kate McMurry I agree with you totally on CH!

Glad to know I'm not alone! haha

Kate McMurry My daughter and I followed that series for decades and we both were absolutely appalled at how CH tied it up.

I can imagine ... when you invest so much time in a series you love, an ending like that feels almost like a slap in the face to the readers.

Kate McMurry Absolutely!

Harris is widely reported to have said, and this is not an exact quote: she knew how Sookie’s story would end from early on and that it would not involve a conventional “happily ever after” with Eric or Bill. She has repeatedly declared that she was not going to change the ending to please fans or satisfy shipping expectations, that she would write the story she herself felt was true to Sookie and the series, and too bad if it upset readers.
