It feels good to be back and see Frances and Annie.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about more Jenny in the story and it looks like Jenny is traveling, so no Jenny which is no loss for me.
Also I thought Frances would be in London already married to Ford but she is not. She surprised me by starting studying psychology and I am looking forward to unfolding of the Ford romance.

Invested; building theories of who might be so obsessed with cutting people’s hearts out (not sure) and what the hell Annie’s father actually did to piss her mum off (guessed about 20 pages before the reveal — yay!)

So far all the side characters are written very well, they have dimension and complexity to them and even if they are relatively one dimensional, like Max, the details of their actions are fresh. Asking a question at a lecture by reading someone else’s notes?! Definitely a dick move but a memorable one.
