I’m crying, because of course I’m crying lmao but to see proof of good work done by countless young children, young adults all around the world filled me with this warmth and strength. It’s like Jane says, when someone sees and feels that they can achieve something to have a positive impact it makes it all the more likely for it to happen.

I must say this book has definitely adjusted how I view the climate crisis, where even workers in public health are inherently helping the earth, by providing better access to people and making those adjustments (poverty, water, sanitation etc) it begins the wheel of change that ultimately positively impacts the planet as well!

Jane quite literally is tackling public health here and it’s so awe inspiring and makes me idolize her more to now know she was working in something that I have studied, such as helping women get access to education, sanitary health, etc.

This book is just straight up depressing 😭😂

I find it crazy that Leakey trusted her without a degree but it makes sense! He also probably just saw the sheer determination and willpower that Jane had to learning about animals.

I’ve told myself I’d always get into Jane’s books since I grew up admiring her, a little sad to read it now that she’s passed but there’s no better time than now to honor her legacy.
