took me too long to realize how meta le guin is with a motif of time / physics theories of time and the book format of alternating chapters with two (more?) different timelines. i’m not yet done and already can’t wait to read this a second time.

god i love le guin. so happy i read her books in the order i did to get here, starting with a shorter more humorous read (1 lathe of heaven), followed by a more challenging but deeply satisfying tale plunging me into the hainish cycle (2 left hand of darkness) then more hainish cycle familiarity (3 rocannon’s world, 4 planet of exile). cannot recommend le guin enough.
