I am having trouble accepting the central assumed premise that people can be reliably and repeatably sorted into one of three personality types (avoidant, anxious, or secure).

In my personal experience, behavior in a relationship is often dictated by the specific context of that relationship, as well as external factors like stress levels and free time. I have exhibited traits of all 3 types depending on context.
