And now look what you’ve put your nose into, of all things. After twenty fucking years, you could ruin everything for me, for the whole force. For Barrons … Jamie will never have the goddamned guts to get rid of you, but I do.” Uh-oh

[SPOILER] “I … told [the kids] that if they said anything about seeing me, I’d pin them on drug charges … I wore my uniform … and I brought another cop with me … And in the end, … Tim went to jail anyway … People are so stupid, don’t you see? Maybe I sound crazy, but for thirty years it was just so goddamned easy. Nothing ever came back on me—not once. What is it with people? Why don’t they see?” He is disgusting

[SPOILER] “The Christophers owned Idlewild … I thought we’d dump her there, quick, and I’d be able to go back later and do it proper … So we moved the body … and while he dumped her, I distracted Lionel and the kids … but the idiot had to put her in the middle of the field like she was a goddamned display … he just dropped her and ran, even after I told him not to. How stupid can you be?” Holy fuck

[SPOILER] “What was the agreement? Tim killed girls, and then he called you to clean it up for him?”
“… The Christophers were important people … They had a lot of pull, and if I didn’t help, they’d have replaced me with someone who would … And in the end, it didn’t even work, did it?… I risked everything … And just because he got sloppy, they blamed me …”

[SPOILER] “All that talk about Tim being railroaded was bullshit. Tim killed her, but it was you who helped him clean it up. Just like you did with Helen Heyer.” Oh-

[SPOILER] “He said you were in the car with Tim Christopher the night my sister died,” she said. “That it was your car.” … “That was why no one saw Tim’s car that night,” she said, the words forming slowly. “They saw a cop car instead. But that doesn’t make sense, because you didn’t kill Deb.” I wouldn’t be so sure about that if I were you, Fiona

[SPOILER] “You broke our deal, Lionel,” Garrett said. “It took you twenty years, but you broke it. You talked. I thought Fiona might find you, ever since she came to dinner at my house, full of accusations. So I’ve had a few of my friends keep an eye on her as a favor to me. Turns out, I called it right. We’re leaving now.” … He put a big hand on Fiona’s upper arm. “Come with me,” he said.” BACK TF OFF ASSHOLE

Her brain tried to work—why was Garrett here? What did he want? But it was starting to feel like someone had placed hot coals in the spot where her skull met the back of her neck, and she felt sweat trickling down her back the same time as she shivered with cold” Uh-oh did someone do something to her?

[SPOILER] “[Garrett Creel] came walking up the drive, you see. From the bottom. Parked his cruiser down on Old Barrons Road and walked the rest of the way instead of driving. Why’d he do that? … when he walked away, going leisurely back down my drive, I … got a view of the road. It was dark, and Creel didn’t see me. … He got in, and the interior light went on for a second, and I saw Tim Christopher.” Oh my god
