This book has caught my attention because its talking about how the main character is going to America and she is wanting to start a new life. She goes to start a new life with her mother but then she gets taken by a man, "Rough and unsteady as they pulled Manman's hand from mine" (Zoboi 2). Now she is hoping that her mom will find a way to still get to her.
