(3.5) Wow does Kristin Hannah do historical fiction well. Readers really feel immersed in the time period. I haven’t read much about the Great Depression but this book allowed me to feel the utter devastation of this time period. Although set during the Great Depression this book feels relevant now as the demise of America continues and the gaps between middle/lower classes and upper classes grows.
