Unfortunate, but I am unsure if I can finish this book. The three thousandth use of 'little one' drove me away in the middle of a scene. Once or twice use of the phrase is acceptable - by accident. 3,000 times? When 'little one' works for you but is not your child, submissive, or mentee? Every single time that phrase has been used I wanted to just stop reading. So, I'm probably done. (phrase actually used 145 times)
