Stay out of God’s way when he’s teaching your spouse, and just pray. Focus on what God wants to do in your life—focusing on another person’s walk with God is pious, unproductive, and sure to make you miserable!

For many women, the temptation to do what their husbands have agreed to be responsible for is overwhelming and results in repeated rescuing and feelings of resentment. Wives who choose to trust their husbands to keep their word no matter what, do not get in God’s way when he is trying to grow them both.

“Sometimes marriage is a spectator sport. Go shoulder to shoulder with your man, and see how you build his esteem and how much he enjoys your company!” Sometimes he just wants someone to sit with him while he works (in the garage, etc.)

She had ceased complaining and expecting her husband to change. She lived her life knowing that what she did on a daily basis was pleasing to God.

1. Think of five things your husband does, consistently, every week and write them down (takes out the garbage, etc.). 2. Write down a strength that each of those activities represents (if he takes out the garbage, he demonstrates responsibility). 3. Write down what each of those strengths means to you, and why you appreciate it. 4. Turn each one into a note and then hide them where your husband will find them

Today and in the following days, begin the habit of asking your husband on a daily basis for one small thing you can do for him. Then do it.

Today, choose only to speak words that are kind. Choose to say nothing at all if you do not know how to say it kindly. At first this may feel as though you are letting others take advantage of you, but realize that, instead, it is actually an exercise in self-control. First comes the control, then comes the ability to see things how God sees them, then comes the ability to say things wisely to others.

When is the last time you saw your husband the way God sees him? Jesus died for him too. Why does God love your husband?

Be quick to listen and slow to become angry. In this way, you can avoid an argument and stay out of God’s way at the same time!
