XXII.A Warm Wind:Back home,Wilbur protects egg sac through fall/winter,in spring baby spiders hatch.Most float away on silk threads,leaving Wilbur heartbroken,3 daughters—Joy,Aranea,and Nellie—stay behind,become his friends.time passes,Fern grows up and visits less often,each spring brings new spiders,few always remain w/ Wilbur.He lives happy,well-cared-for life,Wilbur never forgets Charlotte and the friendship

XXI.Last Day:Humans search for Fern,Charlotte told Wilbur hes now safe,says she helped him bc he is a friend.She explains shes dying,won’t return to farm,devastates Wilbur.to save legacy,Wilbur convinces Templeton to retrieve egg sac,promises first access to food.Templeton agrees,brings it down as humans arrive.Wilbur hides egg sac in mouth,shares goodbye with Charlotte,she dies next day knowing children are okay

XX.the Hour of Triumph:Wilbur goes to judge booth,crowded,Men lift crate.Fern got money from mom,runs to ride Ferris wheel w/ Henry.On loudspeaker,Wilbur presented as special pig,mysterious web writing said to be supernatural force.Mr.Z wins $25/bronze medal,Wilbur faints from excitement til Templeton bit tail,revives him.photo taken of Wilbur,Lurvy accidentally drenches Mr.Z/Avery,everyone laughs.They all go to pen

XIX.The Egg Sac:Wilbur wakes,Charlotte weak next to egg sac,514 eggs,tells him she likely won’t live til hatching.Templeton returns,Uncle already won,disappoints everyone,they see “HUMBLE” in web.Mrs.Z upset,Mr.Z cleans Wilbur,looks impressive.announcer calls Wilbur to receive award,brings excitement/relief,Charlotte satisfied knowing she saved his life.Fern notices Ferris wheel,wishes she was w/ Henry on it

XVIII.The Cool of the Evening:Templeton sneaks out at fair to find word for Charlotte,Fern met Henry Fussy and rides Ferris wheel w/ him.After eating leftovers,Templeton brings back word “humble,”Charlotte weaves it into web,though no one notices it that night.Exhausted,Charlotte tells Wilbur she is working on masterpiece to reveal next day,later Fern happily tells her mother fair was the best day of her life

XVII.Uncle:At fair,Mr. and Mrs. Arable give kids money to have fun on their own.Wilburs unloaded,people watch.Charlotte gets to roof,sees huge hog in next pen.He tells her to call him Uncle and cracks bad joke.She warns Wilbur Uncle may be hard to beat for a prize bc of size.Charlotte tired,Wilbur says she looks swollen.She takes nap while people admire Wilbur.Wilbur worries hearing peoples good comments ab Uncle

XVI.Off to the Fair:night before fair,everyone goes to bed early,excited.In morning,they dress up,prepare Wilbur—Mr.Arable readies truck,Lurvy sets up crate,and Mrs.Z gives him bath.Charlotte hides in crate,brings Templeton after convincing him there will be food.While loading Wilbur,Mr.Arable talks about turning him into ham, scares him and he faints.After confusion,hes revived,loaded onto truck,they head to fair

XV.The Crickets:summer ending,crickets sing,Charlotte writes “RADIANT” in web,draws crowds admiring Wilbur.he enjoys attention and shows off,but remains humble,even struggling w/ scary dreams ab being killed.W/ county fair coming,he hopes to win a prize so Mr. Z will spare his life.Wilbur asks Charlotte to come,she says she may not be able to bc she must create egg sac;however,she promises to join him if she can

XIV.Dr.Dorian:Fern tells mother ab spider stories,Mrs.Arable dismisses them as imagination,urges Fern spend more time w/ children,not animals.Fern says animals are friends,goes to farm.Worried,Mrs.Arable sees Dr.Dorian,who reassures Fern is normal,suggests animals talking may not be impossible,thinks Fern will later shift attention to typical child interests,like acquaintance Henry Fussy,leaving Mrs.Arable relieved

XIII.Good Progress:Charlotte spends night weaving “TERRIFIC” in web,astonished people in morning,draws crowds to see Wilbur,the “terrific” pig.Mr.Z decides to enter Wilbur in county fair.Templeton helps Charlotte find new words,brings scraps from dump,only “radiant” meets approval when looking at Wilbur.Fern visits,Charlotte comforts tired Wilbur,tells stories ab cousins,sings lullaby till hes asleep
