Trying this one again bc my sister loves it

The fae kidnap humans from burning man and that is how they get their human slaves and how the author can make the book somewhat realistic. Jude rescues one of these humans while she is doing her tasks to ascend to higher court

A symbol I have found is Jude's ears. They have been brought up a lot especially when Jude is feeling out of place or like she doesn't belong.

This book takes place in 2 different worlds. The main character Jude is human and some of the story takes place in the human world, but most of the story takes place in the faerie world. Jude is taken to the faerie world as a young girl and it's where most of the story takes place.

I'm on page 45 now and it's very hard to believe how horribly the mortals are treated by the faeries. So many horrible things have happened to Jude in the story because of her mortality and i'm barely a third into the book.
