I just finished the first section, on Crestone, Colorado. This book has already made me think so hard about what I want my end-of-life and postmortem to look like. I’m already generating (in my head, mind you) new poetry pieces on death and dying. God. I’m going to cry at the end of every chapter, aren’t I?

Just finished the section on Día de los Muertos in Michoacán, Mexico. Hoooly moly. I am once again moved to tears. I am learning that this is not just a recount of death practices around the world, but also a cultural history book. This chapter is going to sit with me for a long while.
