i had naively hoped that the rape stuff got cut in favour of the transference-or-whatever-it’s-called-i’ve-lost-track. i suppose i was sorely mistaken.

disappointed. part 2 was what made manacled enjoyable for me and this was just very dull

iayal it would work if it was plot-related for some sort of message like the og handmaid's tale (where it obvs wasn't romanticized) but, the rape just being used for the romance here (and it's also so unecessary) is...

lucy no it’s genuinely just such gratuitous depictions of SA this is wild

iayal the original fanfiction at least operated in some capacity as a handmaid's tale AU... that all being taken away just makes this inexcusable and weird + ALSO, i don't think the sa needed to be added at all for the plot if anyone is going to say it's there for plot reasons? they could've just written something of draco 2.0 needing to keep hermione 2.0 captive to get her missing memories.

lucy that’s what i’m saying!! like i don’t 100% remember manacled but iirc there it was like central to the whole thing (still wildly problematic but felt at least coherent) but when the whole “breeding program” was brought up here it felt so ... disjointed from the rest of the plot that was going on. like it can't possibly be necessary and i'm dreading reading whatever kind of justification we're giving for this that's to come.
