- the people learned to cope by thinking what are the odds something will happen to them, by blaming events on others, by selectively tuning out parts of their environment, and by simply staying busy
- the war also brought people closer together who were in the same community. However, this also could cause a bigger rift in between different communities. They didn’t consider themselves Lebanese first. They were Druse, Christian, or Sunni before being Lebanese.
