I won’t read this one because it looks too science-fictiony for my taste. I did, however, read his novel Drood. It was sublime! I don’t know why it gets less attention!

I'm mostly reading this because I recently read another book of his, The Terror, which is great. Definitely give The Terror a read if you like his writing style and the way he plays around with real history. Dan Simmons also apparently died this year, so it would be a good time to read more of his stuff.
