Nataliya I wonder if authors even realize that Ukrainian names do not have to be spelled according to Russian conventions.

nastya I assume it’s a choice. She did not spend these 4 years in some cave deep in her writing, she is very much online and active on twitter.

nastya ah ok it’s not a conventional novel, I don’t know what it is yet. some meta fictional experimentation. but anyway they have this email exchange between the two of them, i assume the real ones, and just noticed the dates (it's 2003 and 2006). so I guess that explains it

Nataliya Yeah, that’s carelessness on her part. At this point some quick research would be necessary, but I seriously suspect that people don’t even think that the way Russia sees the world is not the only way to see it. And it’s careless and thoughtless.

nastya I really don’t know what is the point of this yet. We had mentions of pynchon and hunter thompson already, so is this journalism or just faffing about some inconsequential silliness or experimenting with form, no idea. this is nothing like anything i’ve read from her.

The majority most certainly doesn't care though, it bothered me so much at first and now I'm tired I guess. )
