I keep watching the movie and I can’t handle how seemingly insignificant the stakes were compared to today and yet across partisan lines people responded “That’s bad, he’s got to go”

We are talking about single thousands of dollars changing hands break this case open but in this administration billions of dollars are illegally changing hands and nobody will do anything about it

A politician facing (relatively minor) consequences for breaking the law does read like fantasy in 2026.
