I wonder if the mom had anything to do with the cat’s death, I hope not. It seems to me (at least now) that she has a morbid fascination with death at the time but who knows, right?
And what’s up with the stuff that she was saying after she pushed Shigeru? I need to know about that.

I knew I would like this manga since I knew the premise but chapter six “With a Smile” and chapter seven “Made Manifest” sealed the deal for me. I really love the moment after the mom pushed Shigeru off the cliff and Sei was shacking was drawn, and how the lines got so much looser and shaky, it’s so good. I also love how the unsettling moments were depicted. A very strong introduction into this story!

The kindergarten thing was a bit much but so far it doesn’t seem too much.

I only just read read the first chapter but I love the dream/early memory so much. The way it was drawn is so gentle and dreamlike, the artist has captured that evasive early memory feeling so well, it’s great. Poor kitty though.
