My guess as to what happened is that Adam sucks and Victoria tried to leave him but he wouldn’t let her so she took drastic measures and tried to off herself but it didn’t work and now Adam is keeping her on meds so she’s only not groggy enough to maybe say three words a day. So she actually could get much better but he’s keeping her in this state.

I’m still liking my theory, but maybe this plot will do a complete 180 and she’s actually awful and he’s keeping her sedated as punishment and the diary was her fail safe to make herself look innocent and get away with it.
