That's Shaman's Crossing completed. Moving from frontier Western through Deep South romance elements to a military academy school tale is a bold choice, and having the protagonist deeply rooted in the side of the "bad guy" colonialist faction is another. Unlike Fitz, Nevarre is quite difficult to feel much sympathy for but I suspect this may be deliberate.
