So far, I’m loving this. The writing style is beautiful, and it perfectly depicts the trope of madly in love characters who are unable to accept that. I wish that Gaunt was more open with Ellwood. It’s clear that Elly cares. But it is also clear that Gaunt is traumatized and dealing with multiple things at a time, so I don’t blame him. The internalized homophobia that Gaunt seems to have is quite sad.
