This book is getting to be a real treat. I find the sacred reading of Joan to be a better perspective of her. Marcantel's prose has also been interesting, she is somehow able to make Jean's voices revered yet material at the same time. And you can really feel how sorry Jean feels about all this. But it is her destiny.
